Celebrity wardrobe

Photo shoots have always been stressful for me , I never feel "ready " enough. I was complaining to one of my friends the night before about how I had nothing together for this photo shoot, nothing to wear ,and nothing prepared. She says to me "Don't you have something like a celebrity wardrobe? " I immediately laughed out loud before replying to her, and then I paused ...I realized why her and many others would be so anxious to see my closet , so many people think that when they turn the corner to my closet door that its going to have massive amounts of extravagant clothing and a red carpet to greet them at their feet . They get their hopes up only to realize that my wardrobe looks just like any other women in her late 20's that loves to shop!

The reason I can give this false illusion is because of one very important thing.... statement pieces. What is a state ment piece? I'm glad you asked! A statement piece is an eye catching piece that gives your outfit a bold look or according to my friend a red carpet feel. Statement pieces are usually bold or over the top to some people ...

or over the knee in my case. These over the knee boots scream statement piece . With the tie string going up the front and the gold zipper going up the back these boots make up the whole outfit! I knew these boots would do the work for me !

I first saw these boots on Kimi Kouture an up and coming fashion designer. I was browsing on Instagram and she had a black pair... I just fell in love! I quickly decided to screen shot the picture but I knew I'd never find them. About a few months later, I went browsing at Bakers shoe store while living in Rancho Cucamunga Ca . Minding my own little business ... I turned around and I saw the very boots I thought I'd never get my hands on...there was no way I could leave them there!

The one thing I notice about statement pieces is that I never go out looking for them , they always seem find me while I'm usually out browsing, window shopping ,minding my own business. Sometimes I have no intention on buying any thing, and out of no where there...it...is... something mind blowing, eye catching , something just right out BEAUTIFUL stops me in my tracks. That type of thing doesn't happen all the time, but when it does... you can not let it pass you by!

With all of this talk about statement pieces don't be fooled.... basic pieces are essential to your wardrobe as well. Basics give you the ability to mix and match and if you have at least a few statement pieces and a few basics you have what is called "variety", and variety my friends is what turns your "regular" wardrobe into "Something like a celebrity " wardrobe.
